Once Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) sent four hundred dinars and four thousand dirhams in the service of Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (RA). Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (RA) distributed his share of the money to the army. And Hazrat Ma'az (RA) except a few dirhams and dinars which he kept at his wife's request for household needs And Divide all the money into the beneficiaries.

When Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) found out, these words were released on his tongue "Praise be to Allah There are people among the Muslims who have no position of money in their eyes."

One day in the establishment of the House of the Holy Prophet, Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) said to Abu 'Ubaidah. Abu Ubaidah other people have invited me but you have not invited me yet. Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (RA) said Amir al-mu'minin I was silent on the idea that you might not like my invitation Otherwise I would be very happy to see you in my poor room.

Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) visited the house of Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (RA). Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (RA) put the pieces of bread in front of the Amir al-mu'minin.  

Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (RA) said "This is my diet Amir al-mu'minin. I Soak dry pieces of bread daily in water."

Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) heard it and cried and said "The country Syria has changed all over but Abu Ubaidah is the one who has not changed." 

The attitude of the Hazrat Abu Ubaidah (RA) was that he never wore discriminatory clothes or sat in a high place. Among the soldiers in modest clothing sat on the floor. when the Roman ambassadors came they could not know who was the leader of the muslims without being discovered. They set wonderful examples of humility and equality.
